Insights on UMS Commissioning

I was responsible for commissioning and start-up of HVAC systems, including Air Handling Units (AHUs) and Fan Coil Units (FCUs), and overseeing Site Acceptance Tests for chiller systems. This included ensuring their integration with the cooling infrastructure and conducting system balancing to optimize performance and energy efficiency.

I performed pre-commissioning tasks for the Utility Management System, working both in the field and control room to ensure smooth operation. I utilized the ABB 800XA control system for monitoring and control, and I tested signals to Low Voltage Switchgear (LVS) and Motor Control Centers (MCCs), verifying proper communication between control systems and equipment.

In addition, I developed a loop-checking tracker, troubleshooting field faults and logic programming issues as they arose. I also worked closely with teams during loop-checking using ABB DCS 800XA, ensuring smooth coordination between field operations and control room functions. Lastly, I red-marked Instrument Loop Diagrams to ensure accuracy in system documentation.
